An amazing travel in La Guajira

A great experience in my life was to travel to La Guajira, a paradise  in which there are many things to do.
I was in La Guajira with my family on my vacations in December 2006. We were visiting many touristic places, for example:
The salt mines of Manaure (Minas de sal de Manaure) : this is a beautiful place where we learned about how salt is made. This place is very popular because of its desertic and dry landscape covered by cactus.

Riohacha:  The most popular places of Riohacha are the beaches with white sand which have many coconuts and palm-trees.

El Cabo de la Vela: this is a place that is near to the desert. El Cabo de la Vela has beautiful landscapes and wonderful and clean beaches. There we slept in a hotel in hammocks.

The Wayuu villages (Rancherias Wayuu):  we learned so much about this great indigenous culture: their food, homes, customs, costumes and lifestyle. Also we ate goat and we drank Chicha.
This was an exciting  travel, a wonderful experience.
