Last February, I was there with a friend in a wonderful trip! The Glacier is really breathtaking and so beatiful, it appears blue in color and you never got tired of its marveling, listening to its creaking noises and seeing larger chunks of ice at the front of the glacier suddenly crash into Lake Argentino... that sounds like a thunder, it´s really amazing!
But if you really want to enjoy the glacier, doing a mini Trekking on The Perito Moreno Glacier is a lifetime experience absolutely increible.
We were picked up from hotel at about 7:30 a.m. and taken by bus for about 2 hours to the Perito Moreno National Park. From there we took a short boat trip across the Lago Argentino and then started trekking.
The scenery is magnificent and you feel tiny on the majestic glacier... it was an extraordinary experience. You can see small streams, so we drank water from the melted ice along the way, it was pure and sweet but without minerals and vitamins. We walked on the glacier for a couple of hours and we finished the trip with a little ice bar serving whiskey on freshly chopped ice from the glacier and alfajores.
It was unforgettable!
